Shift: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. 9am to 6pm AU time (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch/break).

Role Overview:

Rob is looking for an experienced Recruiter / HR Specialist to support his sales recruitment process. This person will take ownership of the initial stages of recruitment: reviewing applications, filtering resumes, identifying strong candidates, conducting short screening calls, and presenting qualified candidates to the internal team for the next stage.

This is currently the most urgent of several open roles, and requires someone who can independently manage the candidate screening process while maintaining a strong understanding of what makes a successful sales candidate.

Primary Mission

Quickly identify high-potential sales candidates from incoming applications, run efficient and professional screening calls, and consistently hand over a clear, organised shortlist so Rob and the internal team spend less time on resumes and more time interviewing the right people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review incoming resumes and applications.
  • Screen and filter candidates against the requirements of each sales position.
  • Identify candidates with strong potential and shortlist them for further consideration.
  • Ask relevant screening and qualification questions, and assess candidates against agreed recruitment criteria.
  • Evaluate candidate experience, communication, suitability and overall potential.
  • Document relevant information from screening conversations.
  • Provide shortlisted candidates and relevant information to the internal team for the next stage.
  • Maintain an organised recruitment pipeline and follow up with candidates as required.
  • Support ongoing sales recruitment activities, and provide feedback or recommendations on candidate suitability where appropriate.

Initial Screening

You’ll be responsible for conducting short initial screening calls, approximately 10-15 minutes each, designed to determine whether a candidate should progress to the next stage. You should be able to:

  • Build rapport quickly and ask clear, relevant questions.
  • Assess communication skills and understand the candidate’s sales background.
  • Identify strengths and potential concerns.
  • Determine whether the candidate meets the initial requirements, and provide a clear recommendation or summary to the internal team.

Required Skills

  • Solid recruitment experience, ideally 3-5+ years.
  • Experience recruiting for sales positions is highly preferred.
  • Confident reviewing and filtering resumes, with strong candidate screening skills.
  • Comfortable conducting short phone/video screening calls.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Can quickly identify strong candidates and potential red flags.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Proactive, takes ownership of the recruitment process, and can follow clear recruitment criteria consistently.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with resume screening and candidate qualification tools.
  • Experience conducting phone/video interviews.
  • Experience supporting Australian businesses or recruitment processes.

Who This Role Suits

  • Has strong judgement and is highly organised.
  • Proactive and an excellent communicator.
  • Detail-oriented, independent and results-driven.
  • Candidate-focused: understands the difference between simply finding candidates and finding the right candidates.

  • Reduces the amount of time Rob spends reviewing resumes.
